Liposuction - Serving New Jersey & New York

Tumescent Liposuction
Liposuction body sculpting or suction-assisted Lipoplasty (SAL) has become one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed by our staff in the New Jersey and New York area. Proven safety, minimal scarring and outstanding results have made it the preferred method for removing fat from the hips, thighs, buttocks and midriff, as well as areas of the neck and arms. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight reduction, but can be very effective in removing fat from areas that do not respond to diet and exercise programs.
Suction-assisted lipectomy is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. A narrow tube (cannula) is inserted through a small incision made in an inconspicuous place. Dr. LoVerme then manipulates the cannula, which is connected to a strong vacuum, breaking up fatty areas and suctioning out the fat.

Ultrasonic-Assisted Liposuction (UAL)
Ultrasonic assisted liposuction is a technique we use at our New Jersey and New York area center that requires the use of a special cannula that produces ultrasonic energy. As it passes through the areas of fat, the energy explodes the walls of the fat cells, liquefying the fat. The fat is then removed with the traditional liposuction technique.
UAL has been shown to improve the ease and effectiveness of liposuction in fibrous areas of the body, such as the upper back or the enlarged male breast. It is also commonly used in secondary procedures, when enhanced precision is needed. In general, UAL takes longer to perform than traditional liposuction.

Power-assisted Liposuction
Power-assisted liposuction uses a motorized cannula to assist in removal of fat from difficult areas. PAL is often used in the flanks and breast and is the preferred method for "scar-less" female breast reduction.
